Summer Fashion Fun with the Classics & Beyond

Summer is here! And, if you are like me, you can’t wait to flaunt those trendy summer fashions. No matter what is all the rage this summer, there are some clothes that are simply summer musts haves. These are the summer classics. They have stood the test of time, and they are still going strong. The following are some of summer styles that will never go out of the fashion.

White shirt

The number one summer classic is the crisp, white shirt. A white shirt can be worn with anything. It can top shorts, jeans, capris, or skirts. It can also be used to cover sundresses, halters, and spaghetti straps to give them a more modest look. The summer white can be worn in short sleeves or long.

I love a clean, white top in the summertime. My favorite version of the classic summer white shirt is prefer a nice white linen shirt in the summer. It will always be an intricate part of summer.

White pants

White pants are beautiful and airy classic for summertime. The length and style of the pants may vary. There are capris, pedal pushers, ankle length, palazzo, sailor, and wide leg white pants to name a few. Pair linen pants with a nice summer top, and you are good to go.

Sheath dress

The sheath dress says classic beauty no matter what the season. You can dress it up, or you can dress it down. Add a statement necklace, a scarf, or a beautiful brooch along with a pair of high heel shoes to move this dress from plain to glamorous. You can dress it down by wearing it with flats or sandals and a simple necklace.

It is always wise to own this summer classic dress in several different colors. Always grab the basic black and white. For those summer months, you can add a splash of color by sporting your classic sheath dress in lemony yellow, summer green, or vibrant blue.

Sundress/Maxi dresses

Sundresses and maxi dresses have been making their appearance every summer for years. They are easy to wear. And, each dress comes in a variety of lengths. Maxi dresses and sundresses are cool and classic part of summer.

Bold Color

Summer is alive with colors. Those vivid reds, blues, yellows, greens, and oranges make their appearance in all forms of fashion.

Animal print

Roar into summer with animal prints. Animal prints used to be saved for those sultry, sensual evenings. And, they certainly weren’t for the faint of heart. But, now, they earn their right to be considered summer classics.

Although they are still considered a sign of daring and a love for adventure, those exotic animal prints don’t have to be bold in color. They can be worn in softer shades like pastels. It doesn’t matter if you choose to flaunt them like the wealthy once did or if you prefer to wear them in quiet colors, they have become an exciting yet classical part of summer.

Colored T-shirt

There was a time when t-shirts were considered informal. However, t-shirts have been taken to the next level. No longer are they made of just cotton. They are made of knit, jersey, spandex, and polyester. And, they can be worn casually or even semi-formal. And, if you are bold enough, event o The right accessory can help to turn a t-shirt into a summer fashion statement.

As a teacher, I have carefully budget money. So, I purchase t-shirts in a variety of colors to wear to work. I pair them with dress pants and some nice jewelry.

During the summer, colored t-shirts can be paired with shorts, pants, or dresses. Picnics, weddings, and other summer celebrations can be ideal for these summer favorites.

Polka Dots

You can wear them quietly or you can wear them loud and proud. Polka dots have been around for a while, and they aren’t going anywhere. In fact, polka dots have become a classic style. And, summer is a great time to throw on these dots.

I like to wear my summer polka dots in the classic, white linen pants. They are cool, fresh, and fun. I also have a beautiful, Susan Graver navy blue dress with white polka dots that makes a statement of its own.

Monochrome prints

Okay, you may not think of summer classics when you think of monochromatic prints. But, that doesn’t mean they don’t have their place at the summer play table. I love adding a little monochromatic print to my summer adventure.
